A design house built around the flame.
Three chapters on form, making and the case for keeping things.
Chapter I / Origin
We began with a room, not a scent.
MUAE began in London with a simple objection: why should the candle — an object placed at the centre of a room — be designed to disappear?
We began by drawing vessels in elevation, as one draws a building: judged first by proportion, weight and the shadow they cast.

Chapter II / Method
Drawn as architecture. Cast and finished by hand.
Each vessel is hand-cast to order in our London studio. Once demoulded, it is refined, sealed and stamped with the MUAE maker's mark.
Subtle variations in tone and surface are records of the process. No two vessels are exactly alike.

Chapter III / Permanence
Designed beyond the first flame.
Every MUAE vessel is built around a removable glass candle insert. When one burn ends, the insert can be replaced and the object returned to light.
Choose Lumen for unscented light, or a restrained fragrance designed to sit within a room rather than define it.
